In a unexpected crossover event that challenges traditional forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Disclosed
According to the formal statement, "An unusual confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The storyline features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden cult.
The questline concentrates on "peculiar tests and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Changes
The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Extra Content
Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an exclusive katana alongside numerous artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Update
This patch also introduces the game's latest free story episode, titled "The Mystery." This humorous mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature skills: Naoe introduces a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series earlier showcased a 2020 collaborative story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
